FOUNDATION POLYTECHNIC OBTAINS ACCREDITATION FOR SEVEN NEW PROGRAMMES

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Kaduna has approved additional seven programmes for Foundation Polytechnic, Ikot Idem, Ikot Ekpene. The approval was contained in a letter issued by NBTE dated 11th May 2025 and signed by Dr Mrs Fatima Kabir Umar, the Director of Polytechnic Programmes.
According to the letter, the board stated that the Resources Inspection was carried out from 6th to 8th May 2025. The newly approved programmes are:

1. ND Accountancy
2. ND Science Laboratory Technology
3. HND Networking and Cloud Computing
4. HND Software and Web Development
5. HND Statistics
6. HND Computer Engineering
7. HND Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Electronics / Telecoms)

In his reaction, the President of the institution, Mr Edet Ekanem expressed happiness with the approval of the new programmes. He specifically thanked all the staff that worked diligently for the accreditation exercise.

JAMB ADMISSION LETTERS

All candidates who have done change of institution to Foundation Polytechnic and uploaded their O'level results (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or equivalent) are hereby informed that JAMB has approved their Admission. They are advised to login to JAMB CAPS, accept offer of Admission and print out their Admission letters. The Institution's copy of the admission letter should be submitted to the Registrar's office on resumption.

Other candidates who have not yet done change of institution on JAMB or have not uploaded their O'level results are advised to do that as soon as possible. This is to enable us process their JAMB Admission letters.

FOUNDATION POLYTECHNIC GETS NBTE ACCREDITATION

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Kaduna has granted interim accreditation for all courses presented by Foundation Polytechnic, Ikot Idem, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State. This was contained in a letter from NBTE dated Wednesday, 12th January 2022 signed by the Executive Secretary of NBTE, Prof. Idris M. Bugaje and addressed to the founder of the Polytechnic, Mr Edet Ekanem. The accredited courses are Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration & Management, and Public Administration.

Responding, the Founder of Foundation Polytechnic, Mr Edet Ekanem expressed happiness and promised to ensure that more courses will be introduced and accredited for the betterment of the Polytechnic and the society in general. Mr Ekanem, who is also the Chairman of Governing Council of the institution explained that the programmes of the polytechnic are specifically designed to develop low and middle cadre manpower to meet the need of Hi-Tech Industries. These programmes are skill-based tailored to link theoretical knowledge with practical applications in industries. “Our students on completion of the programme will be equipped with sufficient skills to establish their own businesses if desired”. Mr Ekanem assured.
